Joe Nethercoat

Electric Guitar

Joe started playing guitar at the age of 11, first heard Rhythm and Blues at the age of 14, and in his own words “never wanted to play anything else…”

After over 40 years of playing, and now a master of the electric blues guitar, he continues to learn and develop, finding that as you get older, your blues playing gets slower and better!

Joe is not a blues rock player.  His influences are more grounded in the ‘50’s and ‘60’s.  A nod to the 3 Kings, B.B., Freddie, and Albert, a salute to Peter Green and an admiration for Eric’s playing on the Beano album all set the baseline.  However, when Joe is asked who he plays like, the answer is always the same…. “I just play like me… I try to tune in the “blues” radio, plug in the guitar and go for it…” No effects, no mid-set guitar changes, no pick – pure electric blues!
